Hey guys! On this episode of Scandal, the investigation into the death of Frankie Vargas turned to Cyrus Beene but that doesn’t mean the investigation is over just yet…
Pope and Associates found out that Frankie and Jennifer Fields were sleeping together (or so they thought) and that Frankie and Cyrus’ recorded fight occurred when the late president-elect discovered that his running mate was responsible for an attack on his beloved Jenny. Fitz offered Cyrus a special deal; If he agreed to drop out and pave way for Mellie to assume office, Fitz would close the investigation into Frankie’s murder.
If only Cyrus knew that deal would save him a whole lot of stress and humiliation. He assumed the investigation will die down soon until Tom called and reminded Cyrus that everything could blow up in his face if he decides to open his mouth. Cyrus met with Tom later that night in the park and Tom reminded him that he’s not a dog, can’t be leashed again and goes on confessing to shooting Frankie on Cyrus‘ orders.
Tom confessing and Cyrus getting arrested by the FBI was great news for the Grant campaign as this means the electoral college will have no choice but to vote for Mellie Grant as the next president of the United States.
Elizabeth North (Portia de Rossi) is back by the way and in hopes of becoming Cyrus’ Chief of Staff, she plans to help him get out of this mess. I had wondered where she had been the past episodes and I’m glad she’s back.
There wasn’t a lot of usual Scandal drama in this episode but enough build up to make us curious on what’s going to happen next. Below is the trailer for the next episode; The Belt
